My Music Video: from Research to Filming

·         What made you choose your song?
we chose our song by all gathering together and having a group discussion and talked about what song choice we were going to do. we looked at different genres of music and videos such as rock and metal. we came to the conclusion of using a white stripes song called 'i can tell were going to be friends' we felt that this was a good choice as we could interpret lots of new veiwpoints from the original music video.

·         What music videos influenced the look of your production?
we looked at many music videos, none of which influenced any of our decisions as we already had some sort of idea as to what we wanted the video to look like and the message we wanted to give to the viewers. the original video to the track is filmed at night and is very dark so we decided that we didn't want our video to look like this so have chosen to film in the daytime, preferably on a sunny day.

·         What music videos influenced the narrative of your production?
the narrative was influenced by the song choice. we took lyrics from the song and developed them into actions of being friends on a journey.

·         What are the genre conventions of your chosen music?
the genre conventions of the white stripes is rock music. this is generally dark, loud and depressing.

·         How does your music video conform to these genre conventions?
my music video does not conform  to the genre of the song or band because it is a pretty relaxed video with lots of laughter and fun, bright scenes, chilling out with friends.

·         How has research helped you in your production?
Research has helped in my production, by studying different narrative theory's and conventions  of films and videos.
